BMW has announced a new lower emissions incentive scheme, giving owners of older diesel vehicles up to £2000 towards a new BMW or MINI when they trade in.
To be eligible for the scheme, you must own a diesel vehicle of Euro 4 (EU4) emission standard or below†. European standards were first introduced in 1992 with the Euro 1 standard. Each new iteration has imposed more stringent regulations on diesel emissions. The Euro 4 standard applies to diesel vehicles registered between 2006 and 2011. That means you’ll qualify for the scheme if you own a diesel car purchased before 2011. You can check your car’s eligibility here.
If you qualify, then you could get up to £2000 towards a BMW or MINI with emissions of 130g/km and below, or any BMW i or iPerformance model.
The scheme runs until 31st December 2017 and forms part of BMW’s long-standing commitment to sustainable mobility exemplified by their BMWEfficientDynamics innovations and industry-leading BMW i and iPerformance electric and hybrid vehicles. In addition, every MINI launched since 2014 is designed to meet Euro 6 (EU6) emissions standards, ,making them the most efficient and least polluting MINIs ever made.
The BMW/MINI Lower Emissions Allowance can be used towards a purchase of any of the below vehicles†:
