While you once considered yourself lucky if you got a working radio and floor mats in a new car, today’s new automobiles come with a seemingly limitless range of options. But with technology moving so quickly, you can find a stunning range of equipment in a number of entry-level trims. We take a look at the cars providing the best range of kit as standard.

Renault Clio

While you may buy a Clio for its playful looks and fun driving style, you get an incredible amount of kit that keeps this car at the cutting edge of the supermini class. With the Expression trim, you can listen to all your favourite radio stations on FM/AM and DAB. If that’s not enough to meet your audio needs then you can stream using Bluetooth and even enjoy hands-free calls with your phone perfectly perched in the smartphone cradle. You’ll also enjoy keycard entry, push-button ignition and even cruise control. As you would expect, everything is electric, including the front windows, adjustable heated door mirrors and central locking.

Citroën C3

The Citroën C3 has a distinct look but underneath that quirky exterior, you get a raft of great equipment as standard with the Touch trim. Enjoy DAB radio with four speakers, as well as USB and Bluetooth connectivity to keep you wired or wirelessly streaming. There’s also a range of cutting edge safety equipment including speed sign recognition, cruise control with speed limiter and a lane departure warning system.

Peugeot 208

Peugeot provides plenty of reasons to buy their 5-door 208 hatchback, with outstanding features offered on the Active trim. The exterior features include 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and colour-coded door handles and mirrors. Inside you’ll get a colour touchscreen with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity. For convenience, you’ll also get electric front windows, electric and heated door mirrors, manual air conditioning and even a refrigerated glove box.

Vauxhall Insignia

For years, business users have loved the versatility offered by Vauxhall’s saloon and the Design trim provides all you’ll need to enjoy an outstanding executive experience. As standard the car features keyless start and entry, air conditioning, cruise control and electronic parking brake. On the outside there are body-coloured door handles, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and electric adjustable heated door mirrors.

Volvo V60

If you’re looking for an estate car, there’s nothing more reliable than a trusty Volvo and the V60 packs plenty into its standard Business package. The interior has a luxurious feel with a leather-clad gear knob and steering wheel. You’ll also appreciate electronic climate control, cruise control and connected sound system with DAB. Further bright ideas include rear parking assist, automatic windscreen wipers and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Toyota C-HR

In the competitive SUV segment, you can expect plenty of great kit on entry-level models and the Toyota C-HR Icon does not disappoint. For your driving pleasure you get a touchscreen media system with DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity, adaptive cruise control, dual zone automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights and wipers and a reversing camera. It even looks like a premium model, with five-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels.
