Sir Arnold Clark was honoured with the Chairman’s Award at the 2018 S1 Jobs Recruitment Awards, for his ‘unparalleled contribution’ to the Scottish business community, and in memory of his legacy of recruitment across Scotland.
Presented by s1’s Commercial Director Gavin Mochan, the award was collected on behalf of the company by Carole-Anne McCann, Arnold Clark Recruitment Manager, who read out a tribute to the company’s founder:
‘Sir Arnold Clark always worked hard to make sure the company remained a family-run business with strong family values. He encouraged talented young people to join the industry, and treated each employee as an individual. As the company has grown, we remain true to Sir Arnold Clark’s original vision. Family, recognition and career progression are key company values, and we’re proud to carry his unique legacy into the future.’
The Arnold Clark Recruitment Team was also presented with a special commendation in the ‘Best-In-house Recruitment Team’ category, which was won by Edinburgh Napier University.
The awards are now in their seventh year and celebrate recruitment talent across 17 categories, recognising excellence from recruitment agencies, consultants and awarding the use of creative and social media. The event, held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow, takes place every year to honour the best and brightest in recruitment at the S1 Jobs Recruitment Awards, and this year was hosted by comedian Russell Kane.
The judging panel, chaired by s1 Commercial Director Gavin Mochan, is comprised of some of the top names in Scottish recruitment along with s1jobs users who got the chance to vote in a selection of categories.
