The all-new Dacia Duster offers all the space and practicality of a large SUV, for the price of a small hatchback.

Exterior style

Boasting a wider grille, redesigned rear and sportier stance, the Duster certainly looks the part.

In fact, the new model has been completely revamped, and every single panel changed. This fresh, chunky look is sure to appeal to SUV buyers.

Optional extras

There are four trim levels to choose from. The entry-level model is quite basic, so it’s worth paying a little more for some home comforts such as a radio, colour touchscreen, cruise control, multi-view parking camera and leather upholstery. You can also upgrade your Duster to a 4x4 system for just £2,000 extra, meaning you could bag a rugged off-roader for the bargain price of £11,500.

At the top of the range, the Duster Prestige offers some premium features that you’d ordinarily only find in cars costing double the price. With this trim, you’ll find part-leather heated seats and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

What’s it like to drive?

The Dacia Duster has come a long way since its launch in 2012. The cabin is of much higher quality, and it offers a much quieter drive than the original model.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine is smooth and responsive and can reach 0–62mph in 11.9 seconds.

Practicality

The Duster has plenty of space in the front and offers lots of head and legroom for all passengers.

There are some handy storage pockets throughout with deep door bins and a pair of fixed cupholders up front, making it a great option for families.

Access is good, too, with tall, wide doors and a raised floor meaning installing car seats and generally getting in and out of the car is a breeze.

Higher spec models have 60:40 folding rear seats that offers more versatile boot space, however, there’s plenty of room without. Front-wheel drive models have 445 litres of space in the boot, which decreases slightly to 376 litres if you opt for the 4x4 system. With the optional folding seats, you can enjoy a huge 1623 litres of space, which is handy if you’ll be transporting bulkier items.

Price

The all-new Duster is available from £9,995 – £16,395.**
