Overview
The Ford Kuga is a smart SUV with lots of innovative features to ensure your safety on the road.
Arnold Clark Ford Franchise Manager Gary Murphy says:
‘The Ford Kuga is an excellent family car, packed with some clever tech and safety features. There’s plenty of room inside including a huge boot that’s handy for carrying bulky items. On the road, it’s a joy to drive and the fantastic range of engines means you can pick one that really suits your needs.’
Accessibility
Getting in and out is easy thanks to the high ride height and wide door frames, giving driver and passengers commanding views of the road. In the driver’s seat, you’ll find that all of the controls are easy to reach and the intuitive design makes everything simple to operate. There’s enough room to sit comfortably and rear passenger space is ample too, with plenty of head and legroom.
The boot can easily fit your shopping bags, luggage or Motability equipment with 456 litres of space. One handy feature is that the boot floor can be set lower to create a deeper load space. 60:40 folding rear seats can be folded completely flat with one hand, creating a huge cargo area of 1,603 litres.
There’s also an optional kick-activated tailgate, which means you can just wave your foot under the rear bumper to open the boot.
Features
The new Ford Kuga really excels when it comes to safety. Not only did it score the full five stars in the Euro NCAP safety ratings, but it also scored 100% for its safety assistance technology. All Kugas come with electronic stability control, numerous airbags and cruise control with speed limiter.
You can add some extras too if you buy the Driver Assistance pack, adding autonomous braking, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition (which adds roadside information to your dashboard) and a driver alert system to let you know when to take a break.
There are loads of handy storage pockets to help you organise your things, from water bottle holders to cubby holes just big enough to slot in your sunnies or mobile phone and keys.
In terms of infotainment, Titanium-level trims and above will come with the Ford SYNC3 system, which benefits from voice control, an eight-inch touchscreen interface and AppLink to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Engines
There are three petrol and three diesel models to choose from. The 1.5-litre Ecoboost provides excellent fuel economy and comes in 120bhp, 150bhp or 182bhp guises. The 2.0-litre engine offers a similar range of outputs but outdoes the 1.5-litre on torque, offering up to 295lb, which is great if you need to tow a caravan (the retractable towbar helps with that, too!).
Motability information
This model is available to eligible Motability Scheme members from £295 advance payment.
