Pre-launch event dates

So, what’s new with the Kia Ceed 2018?

Dropping the apostrophe in its name isn’t the only change Kia has made to this popular hatchback. Let’s take a closer look at the revisions made to the Ceed’s styling, features and practicality.

Exterior

The new Ceed is longer and wider than the previous model with a more commanding presence on the road. Its athletic styling comprises of a larger front grille, sweeping lines and LED lights.

You can choose from 12 paint options and opt for either 15-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Inside, the Ceed has plenty to keep you entertained on the road. Taking pride of place up front is a free-standing infotainment screen which is offered in 5-inch, 7-inch or 8-inch guises. It’s intuitive and provides access to a wide variety of functions, from sat nav to climate controls, in-car ventilation and more.

You can expect better head and legroom for passengers in the new model, and its wider stance means it’s less of a squeeze in the back, too.

The newly enlarged boot has been paired with a lower load lip, making loading bulky items much easier. There’s now 395 litres of space which can be increased to 1291 litres with the rear seats folded.

Upmarket upholstery is paired with modern design flourishes, giving the new Ceed a more comfortable and sophisticated air.

Features

Improving the Ceed’s safety proposition has been high on the agenda for Kia. There’s now a driver warning system that can detect when you need to take a rest, automatic high beam switch, lane keeping assist and automatic city breaking.

All models have Bluetooth connectivity, automatic lights and keyless entry.

Optional extras now include a heated windscreen, JBL sound system, wireless mobile phone charger, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.

There are quite a few packs and systems you can opt for too, from the ‘Active Air Flap’, which helps with fuel economy, to a semi-autonomous driving system, which allows the car to brake, accelerate, steer and change lanes by itself at speeds up to 81mph.
