The new generation Hyundai i10 has been revealed by the manufacturer, with images showing the new, slick design of the European A-segment car.
According to Hyundai, the key updates to the spec of the i10 (first launched five years ago) include:
Generous levels of equipment and functionality
Available equipment includes automatic climate control, a heated leather steering wheel and cruise control with speed limiter; safety features include standard-fitment stability control and front curtain airbags.
Ample space
80mm longer, 65mm wider and 50mm lower than its predecessor, the new i10 will offer best-in-class legroom (1890mm of legroom in front and back combined) and cargo capacity (it’s been boosted by 10% to 252 litres).
Sophisticated design
A dynamic shape has been created, using fluidic sculpture – part of Hyundai’s design philosophy. The design emphasises the car’s athletic proportions and generous external dimensions. A stylish interior, with high quality materials used throughout, mirrors the refined exterior.
Refined ride
The all-new i10 features a wheelbase that is 5mm longer, and relocated rear dampers that deliver more precise wheel control over any road surface. Therefore, the car is carefully tuned to deliver refined driving dynamics, says Hyundai.
A quiet cabin
The new driving dynamics reduce noise levels in the car. That's pretty much all there is to say on this feature.
Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented: “New Generation i10 is another significant step forward for Hyundai Motor. Every aspect of the car has been designed and rigorously developed to meet the demands and needs of European consumers.
Designed and developed at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the car is set to enter production in September at Hyundai’s factory in Ízmit, Turkey. There will be more information released about the car, says Hyundai, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
