ŠKODA has announced the launch of a new Yeti and the Yeti Outdoor. Both SUVs will feature a new design, fresh interiors and new ‘Simply Clever’ ideas, and will revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. They are due to be released into the UK market before the end of 2013.

ŠKODA CEO Prof. Dr. H. C. Winfried Vahland comments: “The ŠKODA Yeti is one of the most attractive compact SUVs on the market and has far exceeded our sales expectations since its launch four years ago. With this all-new look and being offered for the first time in two variations, we are establishing new benchmarks. We plan to continue our outstanding development in this rapidly growing vehicle class.”

Design

One noticeable difference between the Yeti and the Yeti Outdoor is the colour of some of the front and rear elements: bumpers, underride guard, side mouldings and door sills are body-coloured in the Yeti and black plastic in the Yeti Outdoor. The off-road Yeti also has silver exterior mirrors. Both versions have distinctive grilles on the front and redesigned headlights. Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights are now available as an option. Attractive new alloy wheels have been added to the new Yeti design as well.

There are four new metallic paint finishes to choose from:

  • Moon-White
  • Jungle-Green
  • Metal-Grey
  • Magnetic-Brown (Yeti L&K Exclusive)

Inside, both models have new 3-spoke steering wheels, new fabrics and patterns for the seat covers and decorative trims on the dashboard.

Technology

New technology available in the ŠKODA Yeti for the first time includes:

  • Optional Optical Parking Assistant (Rear View Camera)
  • Automatic parking assistant
  • Automatic lock and start system (“KESSY”)

Simply Clever

The ŠKODA Yeti has four new ‘Simply Clever’ fittings – double-sided floor covering in the boot, detachable LED light in the boot, vest holder under the driver’s seat and a waste container in the side door.

Familiar features include:

  • Huge panoramic glass sunroof
  • Modern dual-zone air conditioning
  • Heated seats
  • Cruise control
  • Heated windscreen
  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat
  • VarioFlex rear seat system (five to four seats in an instant.)
  • Fold down passenger seat
  • Folding tables on the backs of the front seats

Rear passengers have the most headroom you’ll find in a compact SUV – 1027mm. Boot capacity is over 405 litres and this can be increased to 510 or even 1760 litres by moving or removing the rear seats.
