Homecoming Scotland has just launched their new ‘Brilliant Moments’ TV campaign, with hopes of encouraging tourists from all over the world to visit Scotland next year.
The Homecoming Scotland£5.3m marketing campaign is run by tourism body Visit Scotland, and includes a £3m advert designed for the internet and for broadcast on television.
The TV campaign features both internationally-recognised talents and several ordinary Scots. Olympic hero Sir Chris Hoy, violinist Nicola Benedetti and Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley are to star in the advert, in an effort to lure people to Scotland next year.
However, the focus of the ‘Brilliant Moments’ advert seems to be on the fantastic sightseeing opportunities in Scotland, and on real people:. Visit Scotland have succeeded in portraying the friendly and welcoming nature of Scots.
Mike Cantlay of Visit Scotland said: “This campaign shows that our people, our natural landscapes and our culture are tremendous adverts in themselves. It showcases Scotland as a must-see holiday destination but it’s also about Scots enjoying events right on our doorstep.”
The advert features a poem, which is recited out by the group of Scots including a paramedic, a wildlife ranger, a chef, a swimming hopeful, a young golfer and a whisky ambassador.
