After making its debut against the breathtakingly majestic backdrop of Lake Como during the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Superleggera has taken the car industry by storm.
Aesthetically, the design demonstrates a fusion of quintessential British tradition and modern Italian style – a visual representation of the ‘British design with an Italian accent’ strap line MINI has adopted. The overall look of the car gives a nod towards the ‘sports car throwback’, a trend that is becoming increasingly prevalent in the industry, whilst still maintaining the classic MINI ‘quirk’ with some of the main features.
Although it is new to the market, we think the Superleggera is iconic. Externally, it is perfectly balanced with vintage-style proportions and flowing bodywork. Internally, the dashboard oozes elegance as the craftsmanship and exquisite materials used are showcased across a minimalist pane.
The English translation of ‘Superleggera’ is ‘super light’ and the vehicle’s demeanour certainly embodies this thanks to the sky blue paint job and its compact nature.
