Planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things you'll ever do. There's no getting out of that, I'm afraid. But what if you want to be different? Well, that's even harder.

Many people think that choosing a wedding car is one of the most important aspects of their big day, because, let's face it – the grand entrance is everything. But maybe you feel like rocking up in a Bentley, Rolls Royce or even a stretched limo, somehow doesn't feel quite as grandiose as it once did. You want something different. Something people will remember.

Well, we've made it easy for you. Check out these 7 fabulous alternatives to ensure your big day is one to remember.

1. A Tuk Tuk/Rickshaw

Tuk Tuks are hugely popular in Africa, Asia and some parts of Europe (notably Italy), but in the UK, they are seen as more of a novelty. The great thing is that they are usually neutral colours and have canvas material tops that you can easily personalise. You can continue your wedding theme by covering them in decorations and fairy lights to suit your colours, before zooming (OK, not quite!) off with your new love.

2. Horse and carriage

A fairly cliché choice but a charming one nonetheless! Feel like a true prince or princess on your special day as you are whisked off into the distance like Cinderella.

3. Vespa

Vespas are just undeniably cool. Fun fact – did you know ‘vespa’ means ‘wasp’ in Italian? This is because when the bodywork was finished, the creator Piaggio exclaimed that it looked like one of our buzzy friends.

Vespas come in so many different colours so they’re easy to tie into your wedding theme. Plus, you can decorate them with as many ‘just married’ signs and tin cans as you like!

4. Boat

Got a riverside wedding planned? Sailing off into the sunset could be blissful if your arms are feeling up to it following an evening of boogying. A trail of candles to lead your guests to the dock could be a nice touch. Maybe even create some personalised wedding paddles (too far?... Never too far!).

5. Bus or Van

If you’re either London lovers or camping crazy, a larger vehicle might add a more personal touch. What about an iconic red London bus decked out in wedding ribbons? Or a cute pastel VW? Either way, you and your partner can head off to your honeymoon adventure right away!

6. Bikes

If you fancy being eco-friendly and working off your wedding breakfast in the process, why not cycle off into the distance? Customise your bike with flowers, lights, signs and maybe even a nice bell. Just try not to get your dress or tux caught in the spokes.

Disclaimer: this may not be advisable if you’ve had a tipple at your reception.

7. Subway

For a cheap way of ferrying your guests to venues across the city, why not jump on the subway? That’s exactly what a couple from Glasgow did! Fellow passengers were fairly bemused when a troupe of forty hopped on, all dressed to the nines.
