The announcement that Spotify now integrates with new Ford cars marks a new era for the app, which has seen rapid growth since it was founded in Sweden back in 2006. For those that don't already know about the service - Spotify is a music streaming service that provides on demand access to millions of songs. As opposed to paying for and downloading individual tracks and albums, once you have access to the service, you can play millions of songs at the touch of a button. There are two versions, one is a free version that plays intermittent adverts, and a paid version, without adverts.
Ford’s Sync AppLink technology will enable drivers to control their Spotify accounts with voice control - starting out with the company's EcoSport 4x4 vehicle, which Ford will start selling in Europe later this year.
