Most of us have experienced an unexpected face appearing in the background of our perfect shot at some stage. Volkswagen experienced this ‘photobombing’ on a slightly larger scale recently, when a Fiat 500 craftily parked outside the front door of the Volkswagen Headquarters while the Google Street View car was taking a picture.

Apparently, the incredibly well-timed prank was carried out by a Fiat 500 employee who worked in the Fiat headquarters nearby. When they spotted the Google Street View car, they pulled out of their head office and stealthily followed it up the road for forty-five minutes to Sodertalje, where Volkswagen’s head office is located.

When the Google Street View car arrived at the Volkswagen office, the Fiat 500 shot ahead and parked right outside the front door - just in time for the Google street view photo to be taken.

Hopefully Volkswagen have seen the funny side, because they’ll be stuck with this image until the Google Street View car rolls by again in a year’s time. We like to think they’re currently plotting their revenge, and are in serious discussions about which VW to return the favour with.

You can see the images for yourself by searching “Volkswagen Group Sverige AB, Sodertalje, Sweden” in Google Maps.
