Arnold Clark is delighted to announce its donation of £1,000 to the 119th Glasgow Boys’ Brigade. Around 36 boys aged from seven to 16 attend the club and partake in such activities as football and badminton when they meet in Linthouse Halls, Govan.

The boys are looking forward to the Easter holidays and the summer months, as group captain James has arranged an array of exciting events for them including golf, football and canoeing at Loch Lomond.

Arnold Clark’s donation will contribute towards James’s plan to match the youngsters up with Boys’ Brigade members at other groups so that they can experience new sports, activities such as sailing and mountaineering and mix with people from different backgrounds. This will be invaluable to their personal development.

They’ve already seen the benefit of this from the Commonwealth Games here in Glasgow during summer 2104. James told us, ‘Six of the boys joined a team of volunteers and escorted youth groups and people with additional support needs around the venues. The boys gained so much from the experience, being away from their usual environment and meeting new people. It gave them great satisfaction knowing they were useful to their community.’

James hopes to continue giving the youngsters fantastic opportunities and encouraging them to build their self-esteem. We wish the Boys’ Brigade all the best for the future.
