Arnold Clark was recently presented with the prestigious Cash for Kids Platinum Plaque – making them the first company to ever receive such an award from the charity. The plaque is part of Cash for Kids’ Corporate Patron Programme launched in 2015, which sets out to recognise the donations of corporate partners through bronze, silver and gold awards. Due to Arnold Clark’s generous contributions throughout the years, the platinum award was created.

Scottish radio personality George Bowie was on hand to present the award to Arnold Clark’s Managing Director Eddie Hawthorne at the organisation’s newly built Hillington head office.

Since Cash for Kids was launched 33 years ago, they have helped raise tens of millions in order to support almost 2 million of the most vulnerable children in the West of Scotland.

The charity is currently focusing on supporting children through the school holidays with food and activities. For many children, six weeks away from the protection and support of school can be terrifying, with many facing an increased risk of neglect and abuse and no hot meal for eight weeks. Holiday hunger is a sad reality and a priority area for Cash for Kids.

Cash for Kids summer camps will support up to 200 children, offering a five-night break away where they will be involved in activities that will help build their confidence and assist in the development of social skills. More importantly they will receive three meals a day and be in a safe environment and have a nice experience to share with their classmates and teachers when they return to school.

Debbie Fraser, Regional Charity Manager for Cash for Kids said,

‘We are delighted to award Arnold Clark with this Platinum Patron Disc in recognition of their generous support towards vulnerable children across Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Together we can continue to make a difference and to help support and address child poverty’.

Eddie Hawthorne, Managing Director of Arnold Clark said, ‘We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Cash for Kids – an invaluable charity that works tirelessly to provide the most vulnerable children with support they so desperately need.’
