The Ignition Festival of Motoring is nearly here, and Arnold Clark is on board to give you the best experience possible.

The brand-new festival is set to open on Friday 5th August, and lasts three days. Taking over the streets of Glasgow, Ignition has something for everyone, with countless supercars, classic cars and electric vehicles. The action packed weekend also features some of the world’s biggest motoring stars, with celebs such as David Coulthard and Mark Webber attending.

On the lead up to the event, we will be letting you know exactly what to expect and offering our tips on how to get the most out of this year’s festival with our Road to Ignition series.

This week, we’re kicking off with the fastest and most exciting vehicles you’ll find at the festival – supercars!

Aston Martin DB11

Priced at just under £150k, this DB9 replacement certainly has the stand-out looks to grab your attention.

It boasts a 5.2-litre twin turbo V12 engine, capable of launching the car from 0–62mph in just 3.9 seconds.

It features three driving modes, GT, Sport and Sport+, allowing drivers to tailor their driving experience from road to track. Aston Martin has announced that it’s their most customisable car yet, making sure you never see another DB11 like yours.

Jaguar F-TYPE SVR

Just when we thought the Jaguar F-TYPE couldn’t be any more bonkers, the SVR made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motorshow.

This muscled up F-TYPE features ceramic brakes, forged wheels and a brand new titanium exhaust. Four-wheel-drive also comes as standard, allowing the SVR to use its 576bhp effortlessly.

This track-focused monster is lighter and wider than ever before, but comes at a price. It can be yours for £110k, a premium of 20k over the slightly tamer F-TYPE R. Look out for it at the Top Gear Performance Grid at Ignition.

McLaren 675LT

The 675LT first appeared as the star of the Geneva Motor Show, and ever since, has been the dream car of car fanatics everywhere. The reviews didn’t disappoint either, with almost 5-star ratings from every well-known car magazine and journalist.

The 675LT is all about driving involvement, and blistering performance, and that it does. The car reaches 62mph in just 2.9 seconds, and goes on to reach 100 in just 5.9 seconds, faster than most hot hatches reach 60mph.

Taking various parts from the even more mental McLaren P1, the 675LT is lighter and more nimble, allowing it to smash faster laps around the track. The car comes in at £259k, without options, however, all of the 500 units have already been sold.

Ford Focus RS

Although not technically a supercar, the brand new Ford Focus RS is definitely one to look out for over the course of Ignition.

With a price tag of £31k, it almost seems a bargain with its supercar-like acceleration and impressive track day performance.

Following the hot hatch trend of four-wheel-drive, the Focus RS possesses 345bhp, which places it near the top of its class in terms of performance. However, unlike it its competitors, the Focus RS has a unique feature, Drift Mode. Pushing this button tweaks the four-wheel-drive system to allow for sideways driving. Though of course we don’t recommend pressing this button on the road.

Also check out the Arnold Clark stand for free giveaways on the day, as well as the chance to win a supercar driving experience in Edinburgh.
