Emma McKeown, who works at our Digital Print Facility in Glasgow, decided to donate 11 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs for children who have experienced hair loss, most commonly through cancer treatment, although the charity also helps children with other conditions, such as alopecia.

The charity aims to provide wigs that are as close as possible to the children’s natural hair.

The ideal hair for wigs is longer than 7 inches and of a natural colour. We bet the charity was delighted to receive Emma’s 11-inch luscious locks, which she had taken six years to grow.

We spoke with Emma about why she chose to donate her hair to the charity:

‘I really fancied a change of hairstyle and I just thought why not go all-out and do it for a good cause? I'm all for helping people so the thought of helping out little girls in need of wigs really appealed to me. It’s still taking some getting used to, though, it’s so short!’

We’d like to say a huge well done to Emma for her generosity and for supporting such a worthwhile cause.
