Arnold Clark supports the Dare To Be Different initiative

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve become the latest company to partner with the year-old Dare To Be Different campaign, which helps drive female talent in the automotive industry.

Arnold Clark will be joining fellow partners the MSA– the governing body of British motor sport – Pirelli, Haymarket Group and CSM.

Dare To Be Different pledges to reach young girls from every walk of life, helping to overcome stereotypes and challenge current perceptions of the industry as being male dominated.

Campaign founder, Susie Wolff MBE said:

‘Being a Scottish girl, I am particularly pleased to welcome the Arnold Clark Group to the Dare To Be Different family. I have had a long relationship with the group, and when I talked to them about D2BD there was an immediate understanding of what we are trying to achieve. It is another superb endorsement of the health of Dare To Be Different and Arnold Clark is a partner who I know will push the ethos of the campaign – Driving Female Talent.’

The initiative has four key objectives:

  • To inspire the next generation to challenge preconceptions and prejudices

  • To connect girls and young women who want to bring about change

  • To develop female talent

  • To showcase role models who have dared to be different within the industry

With ambassadors such as Claire Williams (Deputy Team Principal of Williams F1 Racing Team), Ruth Buscombe (Senior Strategy Engineer at Sauber) and Nathalie McGloin (Club Racer) on board, Dare to be Different looks set to continue making a huge impact and inspiring thousands of young women.
