Arnold Clark Donates 200 XX Commonwealth Games Tickets To Disadvantaged Young People

Arnold Clark is delighted to be working with the Gift of the Games in order to share the thrill of all the Glasgow 2014 sporting action with the most disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

Gift of the Games will ensure thousands of young people who otherwise may not have the opportunity, will now be part of an inspiring day out at Scotland’s biggest-ever sporting and cultural festival.

Eddie Hawthorne, Arnold Clark Managing Director said, “Arnold Clark is very proud to provide 200 Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games tickets to disadvantaged young people across Scotland. The tickets will be delivered to young people, giving them the opportunity to be part of Glasgow 2014. Arnold Clark is honoured to be part of the XX Commonwealth Games and make a difference to some of the youngsters who are able to attend.”

The Gift of the Games programme was announced by Glasgow 2014 Ambassador, boxer Nicola Adams. The Olympic gold medallist and Glasgow 2014 medal hopeful in the Commonwealth Games first Women’s Boxing competition visited Royston Youth Action in the north-east of Glasgow where she met some of the young people who will benefit directly from the Gift of the Games opportunity.

Glasgow 2014 Chief Executive David Grevemberg, said:

“Young people have always been at the heart of our ambitions for Glasgow 2014 and Gift of the Games is our way of ensuring that young people who wouldn’t normally have this opportunity can now be part of Glasgow and Scotland’s moment on the global stage. Sport brings people together, inspires and creates a real sense of shared success.”
