GTG Training– a top quality training and conference centre owned by Arnold Clark – is proud to welcome the Monte Carlo Rally cars to its workshop in Glasgow for the fourth year running.

There are 25 cars coming to GTG, all of which will be scrutineered and documented before they leave for Paisley where the race begins. Scrutineering involves carrying out checks to ensure compliance with rally regulations and carrying out accident investigations to ensure the safety of all cars.

The cars will be brought to GTG Glasgow at 10:30am to be serviced and registered before setting off to compete in the 104th Monte Carlo Classic Rally.

Paisley is the starting point for the rally, and the cars will be driven there following satisfactory inspection at GTG, ready for setting off at 7pm.

Ian Taylor, Operations Manager at GTG Training said: “We are delighted to welcome back Monte Carlo drivers from all over the world. Now in our fourth year with the rally, the fantastic facilities at GTG continue to play an important role in making the rally such a great success year after year.

Now in our fourth year with the rally, the fantastic facilities at GTG continue to play an important role in making the rally such a great success year after year.
"We can support the Rally with highly skilled technicians and trainers, alongside fantastic facilities and the best tools for the job. We are extremely proud to be part of such a historic event once again.”

Last year, over 10,000 people attended the event in Paisley, and this year the town is hoping for even higher numbers. Des and Jenny from Capital FM will be hosting the event and getting everyone in the mood for the start of the rally.

Two cars have been displayed over the weekend at Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow for the public to see. While GTG plays an important role in the preparation of all vehicles for the rally, it is not advised that members of the public come down to GTG Glasgow, as the cars will be hidden away in the workshop until the big reveal tomorrow.

Not all of the cars leaving from Paisley will end up in Monaco, as some drivers are making the journey to Luss instead from the same starting point. One of these drivers is Arnold Clark employee, Scott Fanning, who is taking his own Hillman Imp to Luss.

The rally begins on Abbey Close and Bridge Street, Paisley, at 7pm. Why not come down and get a glimpse of the fantastic classic cars before they start their 1600-mile road trip to Monaco?
