Arnold Clark is proud to support The Kiltwalk 2016, one of the country’s biggest charity events that will see more than 10,000 walkers across four locations in Scotland.
The Kiltwalk is taking place in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Speyside and Aberdeen and the charity is hoping to raise more than £1.5 million for children’s charities, such as the Yorkhill Children's Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow and Calum's Cabin on the Isle of Bute where the families of terminally ill children are given respite.
The Kiltwalk was established in 2011 and has grown every year since then and this year is expected to be bigger than ever. The aim of the charity and the events is to fundraise in order to help vulnerable children and every penny of the funds donated goes to children’s charities throughout Scotland.
Paul Cooney The Kiltwalk CEO added;
‘We are extremely proud to have Arnold Clark as one of our key sponsors and, as the first company to sign a partnership with us, Arnold Clark holds a unique position at Kiltwalk. Our mission is simple: to create amazing events which allow charities, large or small, to raise much-needed funds for the children in Scotland who need it most. 100% of the money you raise will go to the children’s charities of your choice and this would not be possible without the generosity of one of Scotland’s favourite companies, Arnold Clark.’
Eddie Hawthorne, Group Managing Director of Arnold Clark, noted:
‘The Kiltwalk is a cause close to the heart of the Arnold Clark Group. The brilliant work done by the organisation is vital to the survival of so many crucial charities across Scotland.
‘As a family business with a presence in many Scottish communities we understand the importance of supporting local, smaller charities. Many of our own employees take part in The Kiltwalk and as a Group we are so proud to be able to offer our support. We very much look forward to The Kiltwalk 2016 and hope we can raise just as much as we did in 2015, if not more, for this worthy cause.’
