The Glasgow Kiltwalk takes place on 30th April with thousands expected to participate, and a number of Arnold Clark employees among them. We’ve been speaking to some of our staff to find out about what inspired them to participate in the Kiltwalk and the causes they’re supporting.
Scott is fundraising for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, a charity with which he has had direct involvement. He said: ‘I was born with spina bifida and they have been there for me at different times of my life. I am now on the Board of Directors.’
Scott will be participating using a Mountain Trike, an all-terrain wheelchair that Arnold Clark has hired for the event, and Scott is really looking forward to using it. He said ‘I saw the Mountain Trike being used in an episode of Countryfile and have been bursting to try it out ever since.’
He surpassed his fundraising target raising £520 so far and is delighted that Arnold Clark will be matching everything he raises up to £1000. He told us, ‘I think it’s a wonderful gesture by the company.’
Pearl Jam will be providing the soundtrack to inspire Scott as he makes his way around the six miles of the Wee Wander, which begins at Moss O’Balloch and loops around via Balloch Country Park.
We wish Scott the best of luck on the big day.
