Arnold Clark has recently supported Central Arthritis Self-Help, a group attended by an employee’s mum, which helps support arthritis sufferers in Central Scotland.

Clare Wilson, a trainer in Arnold Clark’s Sales Development team, got in touch with the Communications team to ask if they would share a link on their social media pages to help Central Arthritis Self-Help secure funding via The People’s Projects. She definitely got more than she bargained for when they surprised her with a £1000 donation!

She said,

‘My mum joined the group so she could meet like-minded people who were going through the same experience as her. When Arnold Clark told me they were going to donate £1000, I was gobsmacked! It will make a huge difference to the group and enable them to take part in new activities and receive support from health care professionals.’

The donation will help Central Arthritis Self-Help continue their regular meetings, where they get together to chat, take part in physiotherapy sessions, visit the theatre and do arts and crafts. The group is also hoping to raise further funds so they can attend more frequent hydrotherapy sessions, which have been shown to be incredibly beneficial for sufferers of arthritis.

Scott Wilson, General Manager at Stirling Citroën, presented the group with their cheque and said,

‘I’m delighted we could assist Catherine’s group and I’m sure the donation will go a long way. I’d also like to wish them very best of luck in securing further funding from The People’s Projects.’
